On April 24th of this year, we published the 70th Tokyo Kamuro Party commemorative magazine. We received a lot of feedback and it was well received as it conveys the feelings for Okikamuro Island.
This commemorative magazine was sent out enclosed with the invitation to this year's Kamuro event. We sent this commemorative magazine to Hakuseiji Temple, Hiroshima Kamuro Party, Kansai Kamuro Party, and Hawaii Kamuro Club. We sent it to Hawaii Kamuro Club by sea mail, but it had not arrived yet as of early June.
A huge wall-hanging photo of Okikamuro Island, handmade by Kansai Kamuro Party President Takashi Saito, was distributed to all participants. It was a fun event with lots of laughter and conversation, as it was a reunion of students from Okikamuro Island for the first time in 75 years.
In Okikamuro, the Okikamuro Seaside Campsite was planned and implemented by the Shiraki Village Community Council under the direction of chairman Niiyama cheif priest Hakuseiji Temple, and opened. At the same time, a nature experience center called Jikamuro Park was opened. We hope that many people will use it and revitalize the area.
Kamuro-kai is a support group for Okikamuro Island.
