2019 Hawaii Kamuro Club

We had delicious food from Natsunoya Tea House for lunch: nishime, steamed fish, shoyu pork, miso nasubi, pumpkin tempura. And many people brought other food and desserts. We all took home boxes of leftovers.

Art Kimura showed us photos and told stories from their April trip to Yamaguchi-ken and Okikamuro with the group from Hilo.

We went to Hakuseiji and met with Rev. Niiyama.

Then Joy Tanji showed a video from their trip to Okikamuro in late April.

Then I did a presentation about my grandfather Matsujiro Otani's autobiography and how the family finally was able to translate it. I also read from his book about how it was leaving Okikamuro and arriving in Hawaii.

We all had a nice time talking with each other.
