The day before yesterday, I received 20 copies of Tokyo Kamuro-Party 70th Commemorative Magazine ''Okikamuro Island'' from Mr. Masatomo Yagi, chairman of the Tokyo Kamuro-party.
This commemorative magazine truly conveys everyone's thoughts about their hometown of Okikamuro.
I would like to express my gratitude to Chairman Yagi, who said, 'By writing a story with Okikamuro Island in mind, I would like to make it a support song for Okikamuro Island.'
Also, yesterday, Mr. Kosuke Koide from Okikamuro Seaside Campground brought an article written by Nozomi Kobayashi in the 4/26 edition of the Sankei Shimbun. The article talked about Okikamuro Island, the island of fishermen who crossed the sea and supported the local community, under the theme "Walking on the Island: Seeing Japan."
I agree with Mr. Kobayashi's observation that Okikamuro Island may provide hints for understanding the Japanese people who live on an island nation.
Recently, many people, including researchers and members of the media, have begun to visit the island. I'm getting a lot of inspiration from this.
