Yesterday (10/27), Mr. James Nakata and his party of 4 people came from Hawaii.
Mr.James Nakata is the grandson of Mr. Yoshimatsu Nakata, who is attracting attention as a Japanese person who influenced American writer Jack London.
We got excited about the topics of Yoshimatsu and the Nakata family, and Jack London and Yoshimatsu.
Afterwards, they looked at the names engraved on the donation bulletin board at Hakuseiji Temple, and then visited the Nakata family's grave.
Furthermore, we went to see the piano. in 1939, Mr.Yoshimatsu Nakata and Mr. Matsujiro Otani donated an upright piano to Okikamuro Elementary School. This piano is still in use today and is used in concerts and other events. Everyone played the keyboard and looked nostalgic.
On my way to elementary school, I happened to meet Mr. and Mrs. Kimura, who were returning from Tokyo. The Kimura family and the Nakata family are distant relatives. The last photo is from that time.
Thank you for the precious relationship. Our relationship with Hawaii goes back over 100 years. I prayed that this relationship would last forever.
