I was told that many weeds grew in the vacant lot of my parents’ house at home town. I couldn’t believe it because I have took away all weeds in the vacant lot and made some work to prevent weed to grow at last early spring. It was almost complete weed prevention. I covered the space with weed prevention sheet and put gravel over that sheet. I had to admit the fact because that my relative who is living at next door of my parents’ house confirmed it.
On the way back to my home town, I bought two cases of powder type herbicide. I thought that it’s enough to stop weeds if I spray it around the place weeds are very dense. However, I was so surprised when I actually saw the garden after long trip to my parents’ house.
Many places in the garden, weeds grew very long. There are wormwood among the weeds and they looks to have strong long roots. Especially area of border to next door had more density weed.
Well, what should I do? I started to read the subscription of the herbicide. And also ask to my relative about that. I reached the conclusion that it’s useless unless I remove all weeds fist. It was so shinny hot and humid. I started to work to remove weeds. My relative also willingly joined to help me.
The weed broke through sheet under gravel, grew through the gap of gravel and grew toward the sky strongly. There should not have sunlight under the gravel and sheet. There should not be the place like grass sprout alive. .. The sheet is fabric and it’s thick and strongly weaved. There seems no gap in fabric. The gravel is paved thick enough.
The work to remove weeds went smoothly which I started at one o’clock afternoon. My relative helped me very well. The work was hard. I didn’t prepare enough drink. I worried about heatstroke at that time. I worked without rest. At four o’clock, we could finish most of the work.
I didn’t think this space is so large at my child age. I felt now that this lot is large enough for removing weeds. This house land space is three times bigger than present house where I’m living now. I started to sprinkle the herbicide which I bought. Volume of the herbicide is not enough at all. I returned to the shop to buy two more cases of the herbicide.
What a strong energy the weed has. They started to have sprout under almost no sunlight. They break through the gap of thick weaved sheet and they grew between the thick gravel. What a strong vitality. Is there any complete prevention for weeds?
The weeds started to live in my parents’ house long time ago. It may be a suggestion to me to return for my parents’ home.
